Development and maintainance of a bioinformatic hardware and software infrastructure for the campus research community. Instruction of hands-on tutorials and workshops on bioinformatic topics. Extensive manuals for these tutorials are available on the manual page. Consultation services on a wide variety of bioinformatic and cheminformatic topics. To schedule an appointment, please email thomas.girke@ucr.edu. Establishment of research collaborations with experimental and theoretical scientists from different departments at UCR. Maintainance of this web portal as a roadmap to internal and external bioinformatics resources.

- New supercomputer
We are proud to announce the availablity of a new Linux cluster in the bioinformatics facility. The new system from Verari Systems is currently by far the most powerful supercomputer available at UCR. It has 256 CPU cores (64x Xeon Quad Core, Harpertown, 12MB cache), 640GB of total RAM and the latest Infiniband interconnect.
